LocalCafe wants to support communities by offering free tools to make and host websites for those who run small independent restaurants and cafes.

For some a $20 a month fee for webhosting is significant and puts pressure on an already shoestring budget.

Most running a fulltime brick and mortar location don’t have time to learn to be a full fledged web developer and server administrator. This tool provides the smallest learning curve possible while empowering small businesses to self maintain and cut all operational costs associated with running a website.

This means you can make changes to your site with little effort that don’t require a 3rd party and still get all the benefits of free webhosting that many web developers take advantage of but little outside of that industry know about.

There are quite a few free static site hosts that this site can be hosted on. We prefer GitHub Pages as this code already lives on GitHub and it’s configured out of the box to work with it. But even if you don’t want to use GitHub you can still take the output of this site and host literally anywhere with the most minimal effort imaginable.
